2 Thumbs Up :Why do people rate this unit so high?

Sony a one time innovator you could trust is now the general motors of the audio industry. This unit fall way short of acceptable in any category. The AM tuner is simple pathetic. The sound will break up near any power line and will become so bad you have to shut the unit off. This has been the same for the last ten years with Sony. I thought maybe they would have un graded their tuners but they have not. The FM side is better but just idea you may go through a tunnel and the sound breaks up. The CD player is ok but again Sony has put a low end player in. Quality wise, well if Sony has not upgraded the AM/FM tuners or the CD play then the quality will be sub-par also. Put it all together and you have it! Yep it's a Chevy! Don't waste your money on this unit. Pay a bit more a buy an Alpine, Eclipse, Clarion or just about any other brand. Sony should be ashamed to have put such a pathetic unit on the market. Oh yes I did not buy this unit it came with the car. I thought it would be fine, they had to be better then the one I had 10 years ago, so I thought. I was wrong. A good unit for someone who does not care or know better.

4 Thumbs Up :Great unit with a great price

I am quite the tightwad when it comes to buying electronics. I do a lot of research. I found that this unit met my requirements, and decided to buy it. I am impressed with the easy installation, the nice looking display, and the excellent features. The DSO feature really does make door speakers sound like they are mounted in the dash. The equalizer presets are well done. The power output is more than even a hard core blaster can use. I recommend this unit wholeheartedly to the buyer who wants a good unit, but does not want to spend the money on a high end unit. This fits this niche perfectly.

5 Thumbs Up :This stereo rocks

I just got through buying this stereo and I could not believe my ears after I hooked it and my amp up to my speakers. I have had many of Pioneer's and Kenwood's in the past but I do believe that this stereo out performs them any day.

The only problem that I have with it is how hard it is to get the face plate on and off, but that is no big deal for me. I did not like how it lit up like a Christmas tree but then I found away to dim the lights so that it is all good.

I highly recommend this stereo system to anyone that loves music but does not want to spend all there money on the stereo.

4 Thumbs Up :Great sound, Great value, Crazy lights

I was looking for an inexpensive CD player for the company car that I drive, and bought this one on the recommendation of the dealer.

The car only has the standard front speakers, so it is a bit of overkill, given the power of this player, but even with the existing speakers it sounds fantastic.

The detachable flip down front panel is a feature that got full marks from my more electronically minded co-workers.

Attaching and detaching the panel requires practice, as it's not that easy to do, especially when you're in a hurry. It's so un cool to have to use both hands to do it, so I'll continue to work on that aspect.

The remote control feature was an added incentive to buy it, and it comes in handy, except when my son gets his hands on it and keeps repeating the same song over and over from the back seat. He's two years old, so that shows how simple it is to use the remote.

It picks up radio signals from miles away, and the increased choice of channels was an unexpected plus.

My major problem with it is the lights. This thing lights up like a Christmas tree, which at night can be distracting. I've heard that you can dim them, but haven't had the time to read the manual to find out how. Until then I just flip down the front panel so they don't show.

    Definitely no regrets buying it.

4 Thumbs Up :Great stereo for the price!

I consider my self an audiophile, and I was looking for an inexpensive stereo for my wife's car. I researched a lot of stereos and found the Sony (CDX-CA700X) to have the most value for money. It has Lots of feathers and lots of power. The only drawback I found is that it is difficult to put in the face plate. I think you would be impressed with this low priced but impressive car stereo.

5 Thumbs Up :This is a very nice inexpensive CD (whatever it's called)!!!

I have a 1970 VW Beetle and this thing rocks!!! I got this deck for my birthday and I think it is the best b-day present ever!!! It is like 52W by 4 or something and it just looks so nice in my car (i'm sure a lot of other cars). It has all the security features and stuff, and I installed
myself (I'm 15 years old)!!! It's not too expensive and I defiantly recommend it to everyone!!!
