    4 Thumbs Up :Sounds good

I'm very picky about the way my stereo sounds. And this one is on my boat. Sounds great all the time, really kicks out when I need it to. I have it housed in the cabin, stays on the boat during winter lay-up, and fires right up every time. Have never had a problem with it and it's now almost 3 years old.

2 Thumbs Up :Good while it lasts...for a very short time

Decent appearance, nominal performance. I would say Sony has put in this piece little or no effort to maintain a brand name. Expensive for the price BB or CC have to offer. It lasted for 60 days before I had to send it once for repairs and then I have sent it again after using it for another 2 days. Which pretty much sums up a logical conclusion. CC claims to have a city plan ...useless waste of money. In short the city advantage plan is after 31 days if "anything" happens to the product, you go to them, they send it to Sony and when it come back after 3 weeks (for that time frame you are without the stereo) they call you to pick it up. But the question is whether they "really" send it of to Sony or claim to do so and rather have one of the high school kids try their expertise.
Cut to chase ... waste of money.
I bought another Sony CD player... lets see how that turns out.

3 Thumbs Up :Not Bad For The Price

This is good if you have a tight budget and just want a decent, yet cheap stereo. I had mine for about 10 months then suddenly the CD player stopped working. I attempted to clean it, but that didn't help. Although it did not last very long, I was satisfied with the way it played when it worked.

    1 Thumbs Up :Questionable Durability

This unit features a chintzy detachable faceplate with way too much give - press it near the volume button and you can raise or lower volume; press it near the tuner controls and you can change stations. Not good. Four months after installation I was getting sound crackling and drop-offs. Then it mysteriously stopped emitting any sound at all. I sent it in to Sony and they claimed the unit had "water damage." Another mystery...no water had every touched this unit, no spills, nothing. Sony wouldn't replace the unit as "water damage" isn't covered on their warranty.

When the unit worked, it did work fine. Decent display features, etc. But its durability (I can't give it more than 1 star: I had it installed in the middle of June and it stopped working at the end of November) is terrible.

4 Thumbs Up :Perfect for what you need

I just wanted a simple head unit because my stock did not have amp preouts, this head unit was cheap, had everything i needed, looks nice, easy to put in and low maintenance, plus its easy to figure out and has many equalizer settings and great deck.
