:Sony XM-460GTX
I just bought this amp on eBay for $95. I also replaced the stock speakers in my 97 Honda civic with new Sony 50w RMS/220w Max 61/2’s and 6x9’s in the back. I have since read some bad reviews about Sony car audio products but I have no regrets let me tell you it sounds awesome!
I was planning to buy some subs along with another amp to get the bass I wanted but I am glad I waited because subs would have been over kill, at least for me. After installing the amp I adjusted the bass boost to the maximum position and the bass was so loud that I actually turned it back down half way. I have the inputs turned up to less than half because when I turn the volume on my receiver up high it sounds the same as it did before I installed the amp, but went I max it out, it blows me away the sound is crystal clear yet loud as hell, I’m sure my neighbours probably hate me now, you can hear me coming a block away.
Installation was simple. This was the first amp I have ever installed and I never had to open the manual, anyone could do it. The hardest part was running all the cables, and that is only because I was really anal about none of them showing.
I never expected that it would sound this good, I spent a total of $200 on eBay for the amp and the speakers and I feel that I got way more than my moneys worth. I would definitely recommend this amp to anyone.
Pros: Very loud, very clean sound, easy to install and very affordable.
Cons: None that i have found.
